Morrison pardoned for indecent exposure

Justice has been served.

Or perhaps not depending on where you were standing in 1969. Regardless, The Doors frontman Jim Morrison was posthumously pardoned this week for allegedly exposing himself to an audience at a show in Miami, Fla. on March 2, 1969.

Whether or not the event actually occurred depends on who you ask, he may of just been “tucking in his shirt,”  but according to a Rolling Stone article from that time it sounds like the authorities were taking it pretty serious considering five warrants were issued and Morrison faced a maximum sentence of three years in prison.

While accounts from that night differ, Morrison was pardoned Thursday, a day following what would have been his 67th birthday, by the state of Florida.

The pardon by Florida Governor Charlie Crist comes 40 years after Morrison died in Paris.
